Ranjhnaa Review : A Good Bollywood Love Story After Long Time
Another love story from the director Anand Rai which recently made a hit film “Tannu wed’s Manu”. Raanjhanaa is all about a love story between a young Hindu boy from Banaras and his love from a Muslim girl who look Dhanush just as a friend.
The kundan(dhanush) and is crazy all the time about zoya ( sonam kapoor) and always hoping that zoya will change her mind and start loving him. Since they are from different caste, it seems to be impossible for zoya to get in love with kundan. Zoya unaware that she already in love with someone which she met in college.
Anand Rai the director of this movie had exploits the vibrancy for holy city. And watching movies makes you will feel lived in Banaras. First half of movie based on the school life of zoya and kundan.
The highlight of the film is its dialogue which is given by the Himanshu Sharma. Lines are earthy, pithy and wonderfully funny. The music given by A R Rehman add new flavor to the story especially the song “tum tak” will going to touch the hearts of audience. This movie is full of emotions or we can say it has flood of emotion especially when kundan cries for his love, we also feel pain for the love.
After interval the story shifted to the zoya and Akram. A false note hit by director Rai as soon as the story shift to zoya and Akram her college friend (played by Abhay Deol) Sonam kapoor give best performance of her career in this movie and also she looks stunning beauty with simplicity. Due to plot
become more convoluted you can neither removed from film nor immerse in it.
So basically, half baked political twist turns the story and makes us convinced to cry. Unfortunately Raanjhanaa didn’t come fully on track .But despite of this we recommend you to watch it. The multi talented Dhanush can tie up you to watch his acting .You can watch this movie especially for Dhanush.
The films deviates in middle of second hour, romance take a backseat and politics take precedence. The climaxes of the movie applaud the directors and writer of the movie for thinking out of box.
Raanjhanaa is the debut film for Dhanush as he is a super star of south Indian movies, so expectations from dhanus is very high. The acting done by dhanush is outstanding. The movie consist superb music to attract the attention of audience .All the credit goes to the legend A.R REHMAN. ABHAY DOEL has done cameo role .in this movie you can see innocence and dedication of dhanush. He fully utilize the opportunity given to him.dhanus is a super actor .for dhanus you should watch this movie.
Raanjhana Movie Review From 5 Best Bollywood Critics
Ratings: 3/5 Reviewed By: Rajeev Masand Web Site: CNN IBN
According to Rajeev Masand, the Raanjhana movie is all about Dhanus and his charm. The first hour is full of comic moments and some genuinely heartfelt scenes, But the script in the second half goes off the track when story turns at JNU campus in Delhi which in turn is political part with Abhey Deol.Raanjhanaa doesn’t entirely disappoint in spite of its problems, it’s
Dhanush, who offers an uninhibited performance that’s hard to take your eyes off. For its immensely entertaining first half, a winning score by AR Rahman, but most of all for Dhanush, this is a film that’s worth your time. I’m going with three out of
five for Raanjhanaa. Raanjhana cannot be called as a perfect movie, but it’s worth watching one time.

According to Taran Adarsh, RAANJHANAA manages to hook you with the atmospherics, but the ingenious narrative and worthy performances win you over gradually. The romance, the simplistic lines, the heartbreak… the film transports you to a different zone altogether. On the whole, RAANJHANAA encompasses romance and myriad emotions most wonderfully, besides bravura performances and a popular musical score from the maestro. A film that touches the core of your heart. A film that’s definitely worthy of a watch. Not to miss the first half comic and charming moments!

According to Komal Nahta, All in all, the story is interesting and quite different from a lot of love stories one has seen while the screenplay has good doses of drama and romance, extraordinary comedy and a bit of emotions too. The dialogues, are gems and a major highlight of the film. On the whole, Raanjhanaa is an interesting, entertaining and a fairly different love story and will do very well at the ticket windows. It is like heady wine and its effect will only grow. Dhanush will be loved in the film. Although the total investment in the film is on the higher side (Rs. 28 crore), the film will definitely prove to be a paying proposal as around 55% of the investment has been already been recovered from sale of satellite and music rights.
Ratings: 3.5/5 Reviewed By: Anupama Chopra Web Site: Star World ( Hindustan Times)
According to Anupama Chopra, the first half is superbly entertaining. Kundan chases Zoya with the ardor of a true devotee. This love story is fantastical but these are characters we could know. Their emotions move us – so much so that when Kundan finally breaks down and cries, I wept too. And post-interval, when we leave Banaras for New Delhi, the film derails considerably. Unfortunately, Raanjhanaa never fully gets back on track. But despite these flaws, I’m going with three and a half stars and recommending that you see it. Especially for Dhanush who is proof that eventually looks don’t matter. Neither does size. All that towers is talent.

According to Resham Sengar, `Raanjhanaa`is a clear love story that does not fall within the confines of a clichéd Bollywood romance. Dhanush has hit the bull’s eye and that too as a romantic hero in his Hindi debut – all thanks to his acting finesse. He has reiterated the fact that a good actor is not at the mercy of good looks. To sum it up, this `Raanjhanaa` is charmer. Be it for its technical pros or for Dhanush’s Bollywood debut, ‘Raanjhanaa’ makes for a good watch this weekend.
